is airsoft illegal in some states?

my friend said it's illegal in NY State and after browsing through some ebay auctions where the seller will not ship to NY among other states, i'm beginning to believe him.

Yeah, they're not standard .177 bbs, but the same idea. I've never been shot with one, but paintballs hurt like a bitch so I don't see airsoft being much worse.

dude, an airsoft gun that will hold up to more than a couple of skirmishes isn't really cheaper than paintball. The electrics are about $300 plus to get started. a good gas gun starts @ $150 and goes up.

6mm plastic BBs, they hurt like a bitch from about 10ft, at 50 feet you just know you got hit.
