Is Abit KT7-or RAID more stable in Win2k then Asus A7V ???

My Asus A7V isn't doing too well in WIn2k/Geforce. Anyone have better luck with Abit KT7-RAID? Any IE5 lock up? Direct3D or game lock up? After doing lots of different config. I am thinking of making the jump just to get a more stable mobo...

LoL its sad that my good old PIII 600e/256 PC100/TnT2 Ultra/IBM 10G 7200RPM/Turtle Beach Monty./ is rock solid in Win2k as comparing to my newer T-Bird set up

I just feel much more control(or safe???) with the old set-up.

lundog did you try setting system poerformance to normal instead of optimal? That stopped all lockups for me. Also did you install the VIA Win2K AGP patch and the AMD Win2K patch? In BIOS 1004 I lockup using Optimal.... in 1003 Optimal works fine.

I had Win2k Pre-SP2 Via AGP hot fix with VIA 4in1 drivers, but not the AMD Wink2k registery patch under BIOS 1004. I think I am just going to use BIOS 1003 next time. I have to send my board in for another because my mobo's Primary IDE bus is dead.

How do you over come the Secondary IDE bus problem with using BIOS 1004? (something about moving the drives, i forgot...) I know 1003 is more stable.

A7V, BIOS 1004D - no troubles.

Try BIOS 1004 if you are using W2K, it should fix a lot of problems.

1004 is alot less stable then 1003. 1004 causes alot of people lockups when using Optimal performance..... thats bad mmmmmkay? Im using Beta 1005 03E and it works pretty well... except that you HAVE to turn of Virus Protection in 1005 or you cant boot *Strange I know*
