Is A64 754 2800+ bottleneck for 7900 GS at 1024x768 Max AA and AF for most games?

My friend has an Athlon 64 2800+ i think it is a newcastle.

My answer to him was if you crank up the AA and AF etc, it will relieve some of the CPU bottleneck, am I to some extent correct?

He wants to play games like BF2142, medieval total war 2 etc.

yes. but it will still be prefectly smooth. u could oc to like 2.2 but u wouldn't notice cuz frames will still be thru the roofs
