XP 2800+ 2.1GHz Socket A?

i am thinking of getting this gpu sometime in the next year (if ATI doesn't cater anymore to AGP owners). It is the best AGP card availiable right now... and i can't upgrade my processor/mb because it is an OEM PC. If i do, it would be very, very hard to transfer everything into a new case, etc, impossible maybe. so this is the best i can get with my current system. so, will it bottleneck my processor? a simple yes or no with a little reason will do good. thanks! :)

more like the cpu will bottleneck the gpu, but thats never a bad thing. in this case, that cpu would be a wee bit too little.

no, but your CPU is likley to bottleneck the card a little bit, but you will still notice a MAJOR performance boost, I would try to find an x800xt or geforce 6800GT on the forums used tho (actually since you have AGP, you could get a 6800NU, and unlock the extra pipes, i actually have an AGP 6800nu that will unlock, b/c i just upgraded to a PCI-e mobo). If you need help with unlocking the pipes, or dont udnerstand what that means PM me...

CPU won't bottleneck anything unless the resolution is like 800x600.

Ever seen the CPU FEAR benchmarks? Not a single fps difference.

BTW, I currently have a 9800 Pro 128mb. 1gb ram. on average, i run all games on medium with excellent frames at 1024x768.

But remember, I said upgrading my Proc is almost impossible because I have an OEM PC i bought 3 years ago. Just to let you know.

X850XT PE is a massive upgrade from a 9800 Pro.

It should get you a another year or two outta your system if you don't need crazy high settings for your games.

A X850XT will let run most all current games at 1280x1024 with high settings with your 2800+ XP Chip. its literally 2-4 times faster than an 9800.
