For most who vote for Bush do you feel that Dick Cheney is really running the Office and Bush is just a figurehead kinda of the opposite of the normal President/VicePresident relationship.

Most of the time the Vice President is the dumb guy with nothing to do but go to funerals.

So maybe it's really Cheney/Bush 2004 ?

PS: I think we all agree that Cheney isn't dumb ( some will argue corrupt but definitly not stupid ).

Bush might not be smart academically. But he is very shrewd in politics (but that could be Karl Rove's influence). Cheney decides policy, Bush puts political spin on it.

I dont think that Cheney is running the country but he was definitely a deciding factor in why I voted Bush/Cheney. He's an extremely strong vice pres. and doesnt come off as near as much of a dumbass as the last 2 vp's.

A vote for Bush is really a vote for

Cheney
Rumsfeld
Wolfowitz (sp)

These three guys are the ones who pull the strings.

I personally don't like Cheney, he seems very corrupt. I find it sad Bush listens to Cheney more than Powell. I almost wish Cheney would die of a heart attack soon..almost..but thats mean.

Cheney is a part of the military industrial complex there to make sure that THIS bush does as is demanded by the controllers of the iron triangle. This is because the previous president bush didn't do what the military industrial complex wanted and fully invade Iraq. To teach the republicans a lesson, they ran Perot for president to make sure the Bill Clinton would win.

DUH!

Apparently when the 9//11 commission interviewed Bush and Cheney, Bush fielded 99% of the questions on his own.

So either Bush is a puppet with Cheney's hand up his ass, or he's smarter than most everyone seems willing to give him credit for. Given the nature of most of the people here, I'm sure the popular choice will be the former.

I suspect their relationship is somewhat complex, Cheney being more of a mentor and confidant to the president. That was obvious in their appearances together in the 2000 campaign. A vote for Bush is a vote for the entire package, however, all the Necons and Ultra Fundies that the Prez can jam into whatever positions he can, from dogcatcher to the Supreme Court.

With any luck at all, we won't have to find out...

For some reason Ive heard many people refer to the hand scenario. Makes ya wonder why they fantasize about it so much.
