Is a USB headset better then a normal headset?

I have a Logitech Headset but it's doen't work the gretest for Voice programs and I'm thinking of getting a USB set?

To me USB would probably be worse. USB is dependent on the CPU to work. Anytime the CPU is under load, the voice output would probably cut in and out.

I've had decent luck with a couple of Altec Lansing headsets.

only downfall to USB is it will bypass your soundcard, making your soundcard completely useless

USB headsets are good if you get the right ones. Plantronics has a nice USB headset. i used to use it until i got their audio port version. i like the audio port better because it's cheaper and uses my soundcard.

go with some plantoronics audio 90's best set I have ever bought plus you can plug em in to other stuff as well.. with usb your limiting it..

same here. i got the audio 90 set after my identical USB version lost its sound in one ear. much cheaper and the sound quality actually sounds better.
