Is a ssd drive worth it for me?

SAWYER

Lifer
I do not play games, just internet, video and pic editing. I wouldn't even be considering one but I have a friend who built a pc and swears by them.

Current specs?

But yes, if you already have a generally fast rig, and SSD will make the system much "snappier".

won't speed up your encodes, but it will make general use more snappier, esp assuming your raw video fits on the ssd.

different ssd have different performance. only win7 installed and not using it for video storage of files being edited will limit benefit.

Whether it is worth it for you depends on... YOU. What is it about your computer that you wish were faster?

faster boot up from being powered off and to install photoshop on it to make it open faster

An SSD will help with those things. Since you have such a weak CPU, I'm willing to bet that you will be largely CPU-bound in those tasks if you were to get an SSD.
