I will be getting a mobo with a socket 754 cpu that does not include a HSF and i have a spare socket A HSF. (Socket A HSF from an xp 3200+ and a Socket 754 xp 64 3200+ CPU)

I am just looking for confirmation that it should work. I don't have the 754 board on hand at the moment.

I came across this in my initial search. So i'm hoping that all socket A/478/754 can use the same HSF instead of just this specific Zalman HSF being compatible with A/478/754 sockets.

Thanks for enlightenment!

If I understand your questions correctly you asking can a heatsink designed for Socket A work with a CPU/Motherboard that uses Socket 754.

In short no.

That heatsink in that link isn't a really a conformation for your answer; It's a universal cooler that provides different mounting brackets for the sockets it supports. It's not saying that all those sockets use the same mounting method.
