My gf's b-day is tomorrow (22nd) and I got her a silk skirt.. I'd usually get her an entire outfit but I'm short on money this year (lost my job).. Is a skirt good enough or should I return it for something else?

Bingo. Girls don't care about how much it costs. They care that it shows how well you know them and how much you listen.

Should be fine, as long as you picked something in her tastes...but with something like a skirt, it's very hard to be sure that it'll fit, so hopefully she won't have to return it or anything.
 
girls that wear skirts usually have TONS of things that will work well with just skirts.....it should be fine.... (i know, and yet i dont like wearing skirts, i just wear a bunch of geeky shirts and pants...)
