Is a parallel to USB adapter available for HP printer?

We have a HP 1000 laser printer with a parallel port and would like to convert or adapt it to use a USB port? Is this possible?

I did it with an older HP inkjet, I just bought a parallel to usb adaoter online (I think buy.com) works fine
 
Yes, it is possible. There are USB/Parallel adapters that can do this. Use this link to look at some products that do this at CDW. As for how well they work, I can't say. I've never used one.
 
Thanks. . . The HP parallel port\cable is not loke a standard parallel set up. I was not certain if a USB adapter would work. 🙂
