Yeah, you heard right. You aren't going to be able to overclock that chip more than 100-150 mhz or so

My 1600+ (1400 stock) does 1630mhz on stock voltage (1.71 to be exact)

So you just have to see and try.

And i am sure guys atOverclockers.com will tell you it's possible to get this bird up to speed if you have a good mobo and cooling.

My 1700+ Palamino is doing 1538Mhz (1466 stock) at 1.6v. I have had it higher, just can't remember the exact MHz. (stable as well) I remember CPU-Z seeing a 1900+ with a fsb of 288. BTW this one is still locked!!!

Hold onto it for a week or two... I might want it for a computer for a friend of the family... as long as you don't screw with it and feed it 2 volts or something =)

XP2000 = 1667 Mhz = 133 x 12.5 (not that high)

There were some that were able to get them higher... according to overclockers.com the average was about 1.7 Ghz though.

Yeah that did cross my mind, but most of the time i am an honest person so I would never lie about my top overclock of all things. That is too cruel. :D

How much you want for it? I am trying to build a semi-F@H farm and could use it for crunching.
I don't plan on O/C'ing so it would work for me.

Thanks,

PS. Do you have the board to go along with it?

He's from the UK, so it would mean intl shipping.
But if you are interested in buying old machines, I'm going to be selling my XP1900+ and KT266A mobo soon (I'm from the UK as well though).

I found my 1900+ would get to 1660 or thereabouts, but I might have been held back by lack of AGP lock, poor cooling, and very poor RAM.
With different RAM I only ever got to 145MHz FSB :( (1740MHz).
They don't seem to do much.
