Is a palm m100 any good?

My freind offered me a palm 100(?I think..maybe 101?) for $30
2MB , b+w screen, handwrinting recog, pc link....

Think its worth it? He paid $100....

It's worth it if you want a palm for basic stuff.(keep appointments, play a few games).

For $30 is a great bargain, yes get it.

$30 is a steal. If you need a palm, and it's in good shape, grab it.

2mb is plenty of space for SimCity and Palmasutra.(I've got an M100)

I'm a tech at best buy (there are actually pretty competent ppl there....) Its pretty cool one of my coworkers is going to get a nice color palm. its like a $400 unit, but because there is a ton of dust under the screen, we cant sell it to the public, so hes getting it for $150.

Is there any benefit to getting a better palm other than being able to look at pics/play music or more memory?

If your buddy is getting a color palm with a bunch of dust under the screen that retails for around $400, I'd be willing to bet he's getting an Ipaq pocket PC. All other "Palms" are closed off, whereas the ipaq is open. The advantage of a unit like this over a palm is that you can do a whole lot more with it, such as listen to MP3s, add memory, watch DivX, lots of things that one only classifies with a desktop.

In retrospect, the battery life is terrible compared to the palms like you'd be getting, but thats to be expected with the extra features you'd be getting. IMO, you'd be best off going with a pocket PC over a palm, esspecially if you want something abit more then an organizor
