is a new liquid cooling setup worth it

my rig
CPU-Intel Pentium D 3.2
MOBO-Intel D975Xbx
Ram-corair PC2 6400 1gbx2, PC 3200 512mbx2
Videocard-BFG 7800 GTX 256
case-Lian Li PC-v1000

I have a Zalman setup now
Zalman Reserator
CPU Water Block (ZM-WB3 Gold)
VGA Water Block (ZM-GWB2)
and i use mct-45

my CPU temps are 28/33 (idle/load) GPU 41/52 (idle/load)

i would like to drop down my gpu temps down while keeping the noise down

is a danger den setup a good alternative

your temperature is going to be pretty expensive to beat.
Noise will be higher Expecially since your watercooling setup is fanless.

Save the money, dont bother upgrading, its not going to be worth it in the long run. If you really want to lower temperature while preserving the silence, an option would be to run TEC. But this will be VERY Costly, and ur going to need a fair amount of experience in wiring and TEC setups.

Otherwise, things look really good, how is that zalman anyways? im still looking for a kit for my brothers rig since i dont want want to custom his rig with one like mine.

I couldn't disagree with aigomorla more on this one. That Zalman has water blocks that are 50% less capable of transferring heat than the Danger Den water blocks and the passive cooling tower still gains heat even when you put a house fane on it. It is a poor setup.

To begin with... as far as "worth it" goes, what do you hope to accomplish here? I suspect it is getting some stable clocks that will put you on par with the 939 pin AMD's when you multiply that front side buss in 1:1 mode where it really counts and that's where the Danger Den will pay off.

thanks

the zalan setup is real nice makes no noise all the hardware works great, but i didnt like the vage water block to im going to change that to a danger den one

Yup, a DD kit will be better for sure. though, if you can (and arent going to go TEC), get a Storm for your CPU. but why do you want to change? you dont seem to have any REAL reason for it...
