My Slingbox Solo works for a while and gets an IP address from my router. I don't use it for remote Internet viewing, only from within my LAN's Wi-Fi connection. It works great when it does.
But if I decide I want to disconnect from the Internet (on the router), the Slingbox's Ethernet light blinks and doesn't work anymore after a while.
Is it necessary that the Slingbox has a permanent Internet connection just so I can use it on my LAN? If not, what's wrong? Because as soon as I plug in my Internet connection to the router (ADSL), and restart the Slingbox, it works again. But no matter how many times I restart the Slingbox without the Internet plugged in, it won't work.
Does it HAVE to login/check for Internet access just to use it on the LAN?
