Is a mATX PSU OK for an old HP? (mini tower)

I had an old HP, I can't remember, I think it was a 6770c or 1670c or something like that.

Anyway, I almost felt guilty I sold it to my mother and she said it died.

I was wondering if a microATX power supply would do the trick. She said at one point, it powered up and then died again. It was only a 90 watt PSU. Would that be a power supply problem?

May be overheating or the PSU. They have better PSUs to fit those older HPs. There are two types of mATX (aka SFX form factor) PSUs, one has the short side at the rear and the other has the the long side at the rear - just get the right one. I think eWiz.com carries some of each from Enhance, but you'll have to check the mfr's product pages as eWiz doesn't give anywhere near complete info. The H models seem to be long side rear and the J models are short side rear. The 2120A seems to be short side rear too.
