Is a Leatherman Squirt "too cheap" for Groomsmen gifts?

The closer we get to the wedding, the tighter the budget gets....

I'm torn between getting my groomsmen engraved versions of either the;

Leatherman Squirt S4 - $24 each

or the

Leatherman Juice S2 - $44 each

I have a Squirt myself and LOVE it. Its a perfect fit for my keychain and I use it all the time. The Juice is definitely more substantial and useful for more robust tasks, but not as easy to carry around.

Do you think the Squirt is "too" cheap though? It would be over $100 less for the former.

I like the Fuse myself. $20, Target clearance.

If I were a groomsman, I'd rather receive the Squirt, actually...

Maybe you can get an extra fancy case? Or mount small gems on each side? Or cryogenically treat the whole thing?

They don't need it, but if they look at it as a keepsake, they'll want to protect it.

As Leatherman sells a Squirt Sheath, it looks like I'm not the first one who's had this idea :)

Having been a groomsman numerous times my suggestion is to take me out for a burger or skip the whole gift thing entirely. Guys already have everything they really want so there is no point in getting them something that either they have no use for or already have. Two cents.

Buy the cheaper leatherman then have flasks filled with their favorite drink mounted to them.

actually last time i was a groomsman i got something i didn't even think i needed but ended up really liking it. It was cufflinks and a money clip with my initials in it. I use them all the time now. Now I am best man for another wedding. He asked what the other groomsman might like so i suggested a mid-low level humidor.

That is not too cheap. It looks very useful. I already have a stack of money clips.. they should have gave those to my wife. :(

Not too cheap. It is a useful item that means something to you... (you said you love yours). It is a great gift and thoughtful that you are even giving gifts. my husband was in the wedding party for my step-brother and his wife and they did not give the GM anything.
It did not really matter, but the whole thing was tacky, and that just made it more so... some of the people in the wedding party DID get gifts, just not everyone.

I have seen flasks and nice berr mugs given as gifts (diff weddings) and those probably cost about the same, so no not too cheap.
