Is a larger Chipset Cooler worth using?

Is it worth the hassle to install a large HSF (classic pentium) on the chip of my KT7 Raid? Or would I be just as well off just using AS3 with the stock HSF, since I dont beleive there is any compound between the chip and sink right now anyways. I would like to try to squeeze out a few more mhz of bus speed. I dont mind it looking ridiculous with the huge monstrosity hsf as long as its being utilized.

Thanks

If you're trying to clock your FSB up as high as it will go, then you should go for a lot of cooling on your northbridge (meaning you should remove the stock cooling and put something better on). I'd recommend using a Crystal Orb, but if you have an old Pentium 1 HSF, that'd probably also work really well. Definitely use Arctic Silver though, as that'll help a lot with the heat transfer.

Is there a chipset cooler comparison anywhere on the net? Since most likely I will decide to permenantly fuse the heatsink to the chip rather than drilling holes in the heatsink. So this will be a one time shot. I would have to think a socket 7 would be overkill compared to the stock HSF, But you never know.
