Is a laptop or desktop better for a small business?

Small business being a cellular phone retailer and also a clothing shop. What's better desktop or laptop?

Laptops have a tendency to grow legs and walk off......

Will the user be travelling? If not, I'd say no... easier to steal a laptop.

Ditto.

Just get an LCD and a small pc case and stick it under the desk. Laptop only if you need to move it about or travel and do some work.

The area that we're scoping out is not too big. A desktop will suite us well. Do you think I should order one from Dell or build one myself? I'll take pics of where we'll be opening our shop at.
