Is a Gameboy player for GC worth it?

Im considering buying a Gameboy Player for the Gamecube so my kids can play their Gameboy games on the big TV. But im really wondering, what does the quality of the screen look like on TV? The one screenshot i saw doesnt really look that great.

Is this item really worth the $50 spent, or will it turn out to be just another not-used item for Gamecube? I mean, for $50, i could go and buy another GBA game or two for the kids instead.

thx everyone!

not worth it if you already have a GB advance

and if you already have a GBA than it would be wiser to buy another one if you have more than one kid rather than buy this thing for $50

For me, definitely worth it. There are a lot of quality titles for the GBA, and quite frankly, I consider relaxing on the couch with my feet propped up without having to worry about lighting or battery power to be the way gaming should be. GBAs are great for travel, but for my hands, they're just too small to be comfortable if I plan on devoting any amount of time to a game.

GC + GBA Adapter + Wavebird = bliss.

This setup is great. I'll agree that the video quality, when blown up (I have a 44") doesn't look as great as it does on the GBA, and the colors aren't as vivid, but that's definitely outweighed by the comfort level (IMO). I also like it because it's run through my receiver, so I can finally hear a lot of the music and sound effects more clearly (I hate wearing headphones, and the GBA's speakers leave a lot to be desired).

The setup is awesome, but I guess since you're questioning it maybe you'd be better off seeing it in action at a friend's place (if one has it?)

I have one and I love it. If I'm home and want to play a GBA game it nice to be able to play in on a big TV

i :heart: SNES

GBA = SNES2

GC + GBA Player = :thumbsup:

the GBA player looks better then an SNES, if your worried about how good the graphics will be. if your hoping somehow they will look GC quality your fooling yourself.
