Is a foam bed the best way to go for twitchers?

Right now I have a Queen-sized Pillow-top bed. It's really, really comfortable, but I'm a big twitcher and often wake my wife up. I want something as comfortable, but that won't wake my wife up when I move around. I was thinking a King-sized bed would work and saw the commercial for the foam bed (termperpedic) on TV where the guy jumps around on it and the glass of juice doesn't fall over on the other side. Are those comfortable? Do they really work?

Or, do any of you use a King that is made up of two twins or something?

Solution:

1. Take wife to a bed store.
2. Both of you lay on the bed.
3. Twitch a few times.
4. Ask her if she notices.

The memory foam mattresses are pretty comfortable, but I've heard they start disintegrating after about five years.

I've only had mine for about 6 months though, so i dnno if it's completely true

If you go memory foam, just get a 2-inch topper. Cheaper to replace than the whole bed if/when the foam finally starts crapping out.

Yea, but that's not exactly what he wants.

The mattress will still move around (I'm assuming you're using a spring mattress) when he twitches with a 2 inch topper. A topper doesn't eliminate all the movement in the mattress, it's just a pad.

LMAO! Sorry...the whole "for twitchers?" thing just got me rolling.

Terrets Syndrome doesn't run in the family by any chance...does it?

Yeah, I got the 2" foam topper at overstock for like $70. They are very very comfortable. I can't sleep without them.

my friend has a tempurpedic (sp?) mattress and always complains that he gets REALLY warm while sleeping, so just a heads up.

I have a king size Tempurpedic with the pillow top. Now I can get up in the middle of the night to take a leak and not wake my fiancee and when she gets up in the morning for work she doesn't wake me, I used to have a select comfort before this and that thing transfers motion so much it's just horrible!

We've both been very happy with the Tempurpedic so far, has been about 3 or 4 months and we both note how much deeper and sounder of sleep we get now.
