Failing? You don't fail in college, they just tweak the scales.
Break down of one of my calculus finals:
40+ - A
37 - 39 - AB
30 - 36 - B
27 - 29 - BC
15 - 26 - C
0 - 14 - D
Yes, I do mean 0 - 14, not 10, not 1. If you put your name down you got a D![]()

dude wehre the hell do you people go to school, alabama?
90% A 80% B 70% C 60%D 50% F for the most part, sometimes curved but anything lower than 50% is always a fail
community college d/f = fail, UC system C- and below = fail
Purdue University. There are some majors that require certain grades and anything below that does not count, but D is passing for the most part.Originally posted by: NeuroSynapsis

I'd say it is. Barely passing. Even a regular D is pretty bad.

SC grading scale
cliffnotes version..
Under the new statewide grading scale:
an A is 93-100;
a B is 85-92;
a C is 77-84;
and a D is 70-76.
Anything below 69 is an F.
(new being as of a few years ago)

What class did you get a D- in? Hardly see a D- in college.

I consider a "D", the most efficient way to pass a class![]()

The reason I ask is cuz I need to do a conversion chart of letter grades to numeric grades. Here in NY, 65 is passing. Using a typical scale, this puts a D at about 65 (A=95,B=85,C=75), and a D- at 62, thus making it a failing grade. I didn't know if I need to redo my scale to make a D- a 65 instead.
wtf 65 is passing? Did they lower the standards yet again?
This is for jr. high/high school. 64 is passing in Fairfax, Virginia. 60 is passing at the school we work with in Boston. I don' t know what it is elsewhere.
