Indeed, a dual core Core 2 is ancient tech and should be replaced.

Core 2 duals are like P4's, use them if you absolutely must, but you'd be far better off with a shiny new i3 or i5.
For web browsing? Hardly.

Define web browsing. I had a G1610 that hit 100% 1080p Youtube on a 120GB Samsung Pro SSD with 4GB RAM. Loading up apps also wasn't as swift as you'd think. This was a clean minimal install too, there was no junk in the background.

Define web browsing. I had a G1610 that hit 100% 1080p Youtube on a 120GB Samsung Pro SSD with 4GB RAM. Loading up apps also wasn't as swift as you'd think. This was a clean minimal install too, there was no junk in the background.

post a link to the video and I will test on my 2.1ghz e2140, because even with GPU acceleration off int handled the 1080p youtube videos I tested fine.

flash video performance problems can be caused by some software combination, also the G1610 should have GPU acceleration for flash.

Try any 1080p trailer. Running that with basic Office software, email, and a few other apps wasn't that pretty.

As I posted in the other thread that you mentioned your mis-configured G1610 rig - my E-350 ITX board handles 1080P YouTube. If an E-350 can handle it, then a G1610 def. can.
