Is a 5870 still > 470 with newest drivers?

When the GTX 470 was released it was 5-10% slower than the 5870 while running hotter. I can't find benchmarks with latest drivers, and am curious if that still holds true.

Judgeing from TechpowerUp's charts yes its still 5-10% faster, even with synthetical benchmarks like Heaven for tessellation factored into it.

The 5870 is still a faster card than the 470.

Probably. The gtx 470 was clocked at 607mhz because early production gpu's ran hotter an drew more power than later steppings.
So a 607mhz gtx 470 is going to always be slower than a 850mhz 5870.

My 5870 is driving me nuts because it still has no cost efficient replacement even to this day. Had it for 2 years and I'm itching for new hardware, but I can't justify spending 500 dollars for 10% more fps.

Truly one of the greatest GPU's to ever be released.
