Is a 300W power supply enough???

I plan on purchasing a 1.4GHz Athlon and overclocking it to approximately 1.5GHz, will a 300W Power Supply be sufficient??? If not, could you recomend a case/PS with an adequate one?

Oh, btw, I am getting an EPoX-8K7A board...

Depends on how much other stuff you plan on having. If you plan on having a Voodoo 5 and some SCSI stuff, I would say no. But for most situations, 300watts is enough.

there have been a bunch of threads on this exact topic...if you do a search i'm sure you will find a lot of answers...take a look at my "big bastard" rig on my pc list page and see if that is similar to what you plan on building. it works well with the stock antec 300watt power supply in the sx830 case

300 W is enuf if ur not gonna OC...but since u are gonna OC...then make sure you get something like a 400 W or higher. But then again...i don't think 100mhz would not be a problem. I was able to do 100 mhz with my antec 300 w

In my case 300W just about cut it for 1400-1450Mhz, but at 1500Mhz I was only 90% stable, I would get dumps to desktop in intensive 3D apps after several hours of running. I switched to a 431W Enermax and all is good...

Just put together my brand new 1.4Ghz Athlon rig, and I don't think my Antec PP303X is cutting it. I installed one device at a time, and by the time I got done installing everything the system was freezing at random.

Right now I'm posting using only the most essential hardware (plus modem), and it's about 90% stable now. Anyone know where I can get a PP403X (Antec 400W) cheap?
