i just did that and a window on my case. i went thru three dremel discs doing the fan cut out (cordless dremel) and for the window i finally bought a skillsaw cuz the rotary and dremel weren't hackin it. but if it's corded and you can put a disc type cutter on, it should be okay.

ah kewl:) wow fast replies:)

yea i felt a little iffy about paying 50+ dollars for some of those more expensive dremils just to cut two fan holes:p

and u also answered my other question which would have been about the capability of those little synthetic discs i guess they use to cut stuff. it doesn't come with a metal saw blade, just a buncha discs and other stuff.

i'm also cutting some holes where factory mounts are already built in. stupid case considers a few tiny drilled holes adequet fan ventilation at the mounts, its a joke:p

Me too. Cover the area with masking tape to keep from scratching the area with the base of the saw.

safety glasses are a good idea,

you know you could rent one for $5, so you dont have to feel guilty about spending too much for a tool you use once per year..

I got a pneumatic (sp) die grinder.. only thing that sucks is the speed isn't variable.

If you had a nibbler that would work good, and then smooth it down with a die grinder after..

After going through 4 cutting discs on my dremel I got tired of it and used this. I wish I just used it from the beginning, just make sure you use the correct one(left hand/right hand cut). Just a thought...

I took the easy way out, which also turned out to be cheaper.

Went to a local metal fabrication shop and had them blow out a window for me using a plasma torch.

Took all of 2 minutes and $5 :D

B&D sells these tools for $25.00? Could you point me to the site. I purchased one for $39.99 about two weeks ago, but returned it because I found a Dremel precision sander to do the work that I needed to do. I played with the B&D tool for a little while - and it seemed quite adequate. I'd buy one for $25.00, but not for $39.99.

Me too, with a metal cutting blade...much easier than most people think. For the edges I cut some quarter inch tubing length wise, and slipped it on. Looks very nice, and only took ten minutes.

I have that model... :)... i didn't need a dremel and all those things it came with... so i went with this one since it was a lot cheaper. It doesn't spin as fast as a Dremel MP... but it felt like i could cut thicker steel easier... :)

I have a cordless Dremel that works okay for awhile. I shoulda bought a corded model- the stupid thing runs out of juice fast, even at full charge. I might buy a cheap B&D corded model just to avoid the frustration.

It will be close. I forgot what I used to have, but it didn't hack it. My friend had a really powerful dremel, and that think worked like a charm.

snips probably ok for cutting giant holes like for windows, but i dont see how they could easily cut small round ones.
