Is a 2 seater realistic?

I can't seem to make up my mind about what I want to purchase. I saw a Black Audi Prestige on the streets last night, and it looked fraking gorgeous. Holy crap, I think it looks like a midget R8, and thats honestly a compliment. :)

I just wonder about purchasing a 2 seater as a primary car. I don't have a girlfriend (and probably won't ever get one) so I don't see any family in my future...and 90% of my driving is done by myself alone.

I do have friends that have cars, so if I never need to hang out, they are always there. I don't know if this will last forever, as we all have been moving on lately.

Anyone has/had a 2 seater? Are you disappointed? Does the "feel" ever wear out?

I use my Z as my daily driver, and it works great. Both my GF and I fit comfortably, and it has enough room to put in groceries, etc. if need be.

You can always get a cheap 2nd car later if you need to (I picked up an older Prelude) to run around in and/or carry more people if need be.

I also considered a Z, but I hate the way the interior looked. It was so Japanesy. :) I am sure the Z would dog the Audi in a race though.

I have a BMW Z4 as my daily driver - unless you're doing home improvement projects, what do you need a ton of space for (as a single guy)? I worried about the space issue myself initially, but other than the rare occasion when I need something over-sized (i.e. and ironing board will not fit in my car) I've never really had a problem.

I think two seaters are underrated in most cases. Sure you can't haul stuff, but if you need to do that, hire a truck/van or pay for delivery. I'm not going to drive a plumbers Van for a year for the one time I may need to buy some pipes! If you need to tow, need to dump trash, need it for work, like the style, then a pickup or similar suits, but in this case, go for your gut instinct. Anyhow, chicks love two seaters, even though you stated you don't like chicks.

I have driven an M Coupe (2008) and yea it's a bit dodgey when it comes to 3 people who want to drive, but the car itself is tremendous fun, and the trunk is surprisingly big.

LOL!

I could live with a coupe myself, the only thing I need truck space for is occasionally my bike. But I am a sedan guy

I have lived with a "2-seater" for years. (Miatas, standard cab pickups, and motorcycles)

1. If you are out with friends you never get stuck hauling anyone but yourself +1
2. If you need to haul something you can always find/rent something

Present GF (future wife) has an 8 year old, so I traded in my last Miata for an RX-8 (seats 4). Not because I needed to, but because I can't stand driving her '07 Cobalt after owning/driving nothing but sports cars and bikes for years. My decision was driven (no pun intended) by ego not necessity.

I like them fine, but since 2001, I haven't even held a conversation with one -- they just instantly seem disinterested in me...

From what you guys said...I might go out and test drive one.

I am kinda wary since its the same (but 70HP more tweaked) engine that is in my Current Jetta. I wonder if 70HP would really make that much difference? Especially for $45k...

Tons of software/mods out there for the 2.0t that will make up that 70hp pretty easily. Completely different cars, but since you asked about power...

Maybe the Audi will help to change that? ;)

Just get an Audi, a fake tan, some highlights/hair gel, some large douchey sunglasses, a live strong bracelet, and perhaps a colored bandana around your wrist.

Put all this on your Facebook page...and they'll be beating down the door.

Been daily driving a miata now for 3 years and still love it. I also have a beater minivan but I use the miata for most of my grocery shopping and things.

I forget exactly what it is called, but there is a really dark grey color that Audi carries. I plan to get that. :) No more yellow for me...lol

Do you guys think the TT-S is a waste of money? I mean, a 2L engine, not even close to 300HP and 2 seats for over 45k?

That's 335 money, but I am not exactly a BMW [style-wise] fan...

But the TT-S is more than just engine.. doesn't it have the other options for ride control and such? And you can't forget, the TT has a style all it's own.

I drive my Z06 all the time and as far as I'm concerned it has an extra seat! I actually like using the two seater excuse for not having to be the driver for car pools.

That said, I do have an older Z71 pickup for winter duty, and a cheap used Cobalt for long trips. If it wasn't for snow I would have no issue driving a two seater all year round, though.

lol, I mentioned this before. For some odd reason, when I think Corvette, I think mid-50's bald fat guy. I am not 50. ;)

I just can't see myself in one. It's too grownuppy.
