is 8800GT available for in-store pick up?

hey guys..m frm india..n my brother is comin from california tomrow itself..so i was wonderin if he can find a 8800GT available in any store by any chance tomrow itself..price doesnt matter..i know its out of stock..but maybe if u guys know of any..plz leme know.thanks in advance.
 
Don't rely on the online inventory checker. Have him go into the Best Buy store and ask someone if he doesn't see it on the shelf. I got mine when it was listed as "unavailable" on the website and wasn't on the shelf. They pulled it out from the back when I asked someone. Good luck!

Edit: And check Fry's like Shaq said. They were supposed to get some in last week, at least in northern Ca.
 
i finally have the money to buy one, but bestbuy has said unavailable at all 3 stores in my city since last weekend. might try them tonite and see if they have some in the back.
 
I was wondering the same thing since my sons 6800gt died the other day and I really need something for his machine now. I couldn't locate one even in a city as large a Jax so I ended up ordering online from clubit this afternoon.
 
Well ok so I'm looking at bb online today and they showed the bfg 8800gt in stock at the new store in north jax so I load the family in the truck and off we go. I get to the store and there's nothing on the shelves so I ask an associate. She looks it up on the computer which shows 3 cards in the store so she goes to the back to look. Comes back a few minutes later and says that she can't find them. I then go to customer service and they go back and look and can't find anything. I'm a wee bit frustrated that they would list them as being in stock and not have them. Now I start a grand tour of Jax in search of the illusive 8800gt. I go to all the compusa, bb, cc and office depot stores and nobody has them. The compusa store in north jax said that they're supposed to get 14 more cards in next week and to check back on Tuesday afternoon. I'm like, ok thanks and left. Six hours later I'm finally home with no card and thankfully I didn't cancel the online order I'd placed yesterday before I set out. If you want to score a card check out some of the deals online and hopefully you can locate a vendor with them in stock.
 
lol..what i meant was...i saw somewhere that the prices of 8800GT are going to fall early december...so i wanted to know why so...and is that right time to get this card? UNDERSTOOD
