Is 81.85 Forceware multithreaded?

Haven't heard anyone mention huge performance gains on dual core systems... and haven't heard any press about it. I thought the 8x.xx series drives were all going to be multithreaded.

yeah i think they are supposed to be, i am using this driver version and i have not really seen any performance increase, although i would need to use fraps to find out for sure.

Actually I was under the impression that GPU limited titles see the increase... since the multithreaded drivers offload some geometry work the GPU normally does to the 2nd CPU core.

You're correct.

i see increased in cpu limited things as well

first test of 3dmark01 i see i hit over 600fps while with 7x.xx drivers i only near high 500s

same with aquamark...i get nearly a 13000 point increase from the drivers

with severe gpu limited apps (3dmark05) i only see a 200 pt increase

this is with my gtx

Looks like although these drivers did provide performance increases, they aren't the holy grail that some put them out to be. I haven't tried these drivers out myself, even though I have a dual core processor and a 6600GT. I frankly don't have enough time cause of schoolwork to even play games :(.

I was pretty disappointed by them. I saw no difference in DOD-S (def. GPU limited on my settings) although a suspected differnce in BF2. Better image quality in BF2 but not DOD-S

They also caused DOD-S to crash after 5 min no matter what
