Is 80hz - 18kHz good range for speakers?

Actually, 18KHz isn't that high either.... Most decent speakers will go up to 20KHz. Depending on how fast they roll off, you'd probably need to have pretty good hearing to tell the difference though.

It really doesn't matter that much. You either have to be pretty young or have really good ears to hear up to 20kHz anyway.

ideally youll want it to go to at least 20 khz, preferabbly 22 khz

you will also need a sub get one that goes from 20-120 hz

usually your main components should go as low as 50hz and have a sub that can reproduce 20-75hz.

aye

for me my floorstanders do 35-20khz (45-20khz realistically) and my sub can co down to 27hz .....

My point is - Never mind the frequency range, it's lacking the "Dollar Response."

For seven grand, it'd better make me a steak, blow me while I'm eating it, and do the dishes when I'm done.

Yup!
Most people can't hear beyond 18 kHz, however some people can hear up to 22 kHz. As for the other end purist insist of having as low as 20Hz, but most people have a hard time listen to below 35 Hz and it is even more difficult listening when there are others music ambience noise in the room. And, speakers at have the range down to 30-40 Hz should be more than adequate.

It is best to take your favorite CD that have music with full range of sound to a local store and listen to find which speakers produce the sounds that you like.

I've never read anything about it. The only info I see there is "Stereophile seemed to like the sound".

As you probably know, $7k isn't anything in high end speakers, so is it worth it? How do I know?

The manuf website appears to have a freq resp graph that indicates the range extends a bit farther than that with falloff.
