Is $69.99 a good price for a new 3dfx voodoo4 4500 AGP card

get the LE, or MX.. but if you save up for a little longer.. spend about 115. and get a Kyro 2.. which hangs with the PRO!!!!

The 4000 I think is the 3D prophet 4000XT which use the Kyro1 chipset.
For the Kyro2, newegg.com might be a good place to check, interesting choice.
The 2D on the MX bugs me big time, so I would suggest the Radeon Ve or LE over the MX.

PCI video cards can use with two or more monitors, some very low end systems with a PCchips mobo in it would really appreciate the PCI V4.

The Voodoo 4 is a nice card, a little faster in most games than a GeForce MX.

I don't think so. The MX is more powerful than a V4 and in some cases the difference is quite large. The V4 has a very low fillrate.

Glide is broke in 32bit, which is why UT scores so high!

Not only that, but it's an apples to oranges comparison because the Unreal/UT engine was built around Glide. The other APIs were tacked on as an afterthought, so all you end up doing is comparing Sweeney's Glide skills vs his OpenGL/Direct 3D skills.

And let's not forget that you can use large textures with OpenGL/Direct3D but you can't with Glide.

richardycc, for the same price as a V4 you can get a Radeon LE or a GF2 MX and both cards are significantly better than a V4. My advice is to get the Radeon LE.

But..but..BFG10K- what about all those great upcoming Glide titles?!
;-)

BTW- DoubleL- Where is this "full driver support for a long time to come" originating?
