Is 650W enough for my build?

I'm building my first computer here and I haven't exactly done any hands-on work yet, but a lot of research. Still, will an HX650 be enough for my build of FX-6300 (~OC'd 4.5 GHz) and 7870 XT Tahiti (~1200 MHz)? I've looked up load power consumptions, but with the GPU being rather new there aren't any exact benchmarks for that specific model. Halp?

Since I expect that to be a corsair I agree. Else I would read some reviews, since you could acquire a 650 unit on the paper, that does not deliver like promised.

Try Jonnyguru, not to do adverts.

Also how the power is divided might be important. Just for future ref, the 12V rail(s) is really the most important. Enough amps needs to be output there since those 12V rails cover your gpu and cpu.

Another issue to take into account is with multi-rail psus. The juice again is divided throughout the rails and eg a powerhungry gpu might need power from several rails and the pcie lane, so you need to determine which cables go with which lane and connect those proper.

Hope that helps the understanding. It was a quick reference explanation.

Good luck. 🙂
