Is 600W enough?

my 600W says it can do SLI but i want to be sure it will handle what i have

WHAT 600W? There's more to a PSU than whatever "wattage" it claims.

OHHHH YOUR 600 watt power supply. OF COURSE! As long as its YOUR 600W power supply it will be more than capable enough of handling that load.

Jonny is asking you what brand and model your PSU is. We are not psychic, so we don't know what "your 600W PSU" is.

Nope. Not two 9800 GTX cards.

First, the obvious, the PSU only has two PCIe power connectors. Each 9800 GTX card needs two PCIe power connectors so for two cards you'll need FOUR.

Second, it's very unlikely that that PSU would hold up a 600W continuous load at operating temperatures.

Ok for one...many PSU manufacturers are known to lie and FUD

but...more likely they say it because there are other cards that are capable of running in SLI that don't pull as much power as the 9800GTX.

I am sure it would run 7600GT in SLI just fine.

You are spending quite alot of money on other components, why don't you make sure they get the proper power by buying a decent Power Supply?

Not all rosewill PSUs are junk...just most of them. These two are pretty decent, although way underpowered for 2x 9800GTX. If you can afford $600 for video cards, you should NOT skimp on your power supply. That would be like managing a team of all star-athletes and feeding them on a diet consisting exclusively of taco bell...

Since $100 get's you a qaulity 750w PSU with the needed PCI-e connectors there's no reason to try and spend less.

Just because it says SLI ready does not mean it is 9800GTX-SLI ready. You can SLI lower end cards too..

EXACTLY.

If you check out the SLI Zone, you'll see that there are several CATEGORIES of SLI "readiness". Some PSU's are only certified to run a pair of 6800 GT's while others are certified to run a pair of 8800 Ultra's. The PSU manufacturers can use the SLI certified logo, but are NOT required to state at what level their PSU's are certified at.
