Is 49.5c too hot?

I have a Asus A7V a Duron 650 o'c to 1gig with a CoolerMaster fan, it run's 49.5c as reported by the Asus bios.

That's actually a pretty good temp... but is that idle or full load?

From anandtech's articles, as long as your CPU is under 60C under full load it's fine...

yeah, that temp is fine. not GREAT...but liveable...try to get it down if you can with arctic silver or something i guess..but like we said, it wont die

i guess as long as you don't get problems it should be fine, since you will probably change your CPU before the heat can kill it. 🙂

it's an ok temp, but it does seem high for Duron 650. The chip can handle it but I'd keep an eye on the temp. anyway.

That is an ok temp for a duron chip. AMD rates the Duron operarable at up to 90c. As long as your case temp is low enough that your other components can handle it, but your Duron is in the safe range.

Anyone knows does ASUS A7V with newer BIOS (1005) reports lower CPU temps than with older one (e.g 1004D)? I remember reading sth. about that. Also, has anybody seen A7V reporting false CPU fan speeds (or does Titan Majesty M5AB's fan really makes 12-40k RPM ? 🙂 ).
