I am thinking of Sonata II for my X2 3800+ with MSI K8N Neo4 , an 6800 video card and a 250G SATA
Some one say it is not enough? well someone say enough, I got confused.
Remember I do not O/C it

Depends on the brand. IF you get a top tier brand, like Seasonic, Antec, PC Power & Cooling, Fortron, you'll be just fine. Cheaper power supplies may peak at 450W but cannot deliver constant reliable power anywhere near that rating.

I will go for either Antec Sonata II or P150, a P180+TP 500W is too expensive.

Peace & ciao !!!

Well, Video card is not the most important concern now as I might not play some serious exciting game in half to one year. I might even just get a 6600 LE and change to the top card later.

Should be enough if you buy good brands, as mentioned. I have a Cooler Master 450W and it can handle just about anything I throw at it.

I run a 350W TTGI SuperFlower ps (the one w/ the single 14cm fan, supposedly made by a top tier manuf). I have an Opteron 165, two HD's, a capture card, and a Radeon 9700 Pro. Works just fine for me. I have a 500W sitting in my closet for if/when I need it for a more powerful vidcard, otherwise one of these is going into an HTPC that I'm gathering parts for.

Something important to remember when dealing with power supplies is, "Quality takes precedence over quantity".

My system uses a Fortron Blue Storm 400 watt power supply..
I have an nForce4 sli board, X2 3800+ (stock), four sticks of memory, an X800GTO overclocked to a mild 500/500 with the remaining four pipes unlocked, a hard drive, an optical drive, two 120mm case fans and an add-in sound card..

I have absolutely no issues with this power supply. Clean, stable power, no blue screens, no freezes, no hiccups

A good 350 - 450 watt power supply is all you should ever need..

I would assume you only need more if you intend to overclock your CPU, in addition to running SLI, and have multiple hard drives and optical drives..

Running Opteron 144 at 2700MHz and at 146 at 3000MHz with only 200w supplies in mATX cases (plus ATi x800 and more), so 450w will be overkill for you.
