is 41-48 c to hott for a xp1700?

im running a xp1700 on a nf7 with a dragonorb3 cooler and cheap heatsink compound i got for 2.00 at iei. when i start up and go into pc health status it reads usually 41c. then on mbm when i run games it jumps to as high as 46. is this ok??

46c doesn't seem too bad with a cheap cooler. I tend to want to stay under 50C if possible.

Those temps are fine, if you can stand the noise. I live with a Drgon Orb 3 for ~3 month and then promptly changes to a GC-68. But the Dragon Orb 3 has the BIGGEST copper insert in a HSF to date.

As long as your board is giving you accurate readings, you have nothing to worry about. 46C is a good temp. As long as you stay under 60C or so you'll be fine. In fact you could even allow for it to go higher than that if you'd like to use a slower (quieter) fan, although I prefer to keep temps under 60C.
