Is 3d touch really any good?

Why not make the right click a motion gesture? Flick up works on blackberry devices. Android doesn't seem like it is in a rush to implement 3d touch.

3D Touch is pointless about 80% of the time, making the interface actually worse much of the time. About 20% of the time it does something useful.

However, overall, because it is an inconsistent UI feature and because it is more a detriment than a benefit, I'd rather we could just turn it off completely.

I use 3d touch all the time. I use it to move the cursor while typing mostly, but also to preview web pages and quick launch certain parts of apps.

Yeah very specific cases are super nice.

- Cursor movement on the keyboard
- Peek-preview a link from an email so you don't have to switch apps and switch back when you find out it's not what you want
- Notifications interactions on the home screen are worlds better with 3D touch as opposed to swipe/tap.

Occasionally other peek actions are nice.

I like it for the cursor movement but hate it otherwise. my example is trying to delete or move an app around. you have to push just right for it to select it and it takes like 4-5 tries.

Yes, this is really, really irritating. It doesn't take me 4-5 tries, but on my iPhone 7 Plus, it does take me longer than it ever did on my iPhone 5S.

I rarely use it. Mostly to quickly access the menus under the Settings icon for Cellular Data, Wifi and Bluetooth. That's probably 99% of the 3d touch usage.
