Hey all, I got called skinny today and I measured my chest today and it is 39". Is that considered a small frame? I'm 5'11, 16 and asian.

Besides lifting weights, how can I make it bigger?

What is going on with the warping, holy cow.

As for your size...you're 16, don't worry so much. If you're really that concerned, take a look in the health & fitness forum for some diet and exercise tips.

Do flies at the gym. That'll let you grow. But you shouldn't be too worried, it's natural for Asians to have slighter frames, it's just how they genetically developed, I suppose. Could be diet as well, but one of my Asian friends is huge. He looks like Hercules incarnate, so there's hope yet. :p

Also, your diet in all seriousness could be what is "holding you back," I know it was for me, and I'm white. I'm very broad shouldered though, but you have to restructure your diet, don't eat a lot of garbage food, eating healthy is good, but be sure to include fats that help you grow.

There's nothing like a nice steak after a hard workout. :)

<----Is about to bbq steak.

Btw, what ethnicity of Asian are you? Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese? From what I have observed, the Vietnamese tend to be the slightest, but again, it could be merely diet that is determining this physical outcome.

For your age and body type 39" is perfect. Not that I would recomend it but if you spend the next 4yrs playing sports and lifting weights you'll definately get a bigger chest meas.

I don't know. I haven't worn a shirt that small since I was a boy...:p

I currently wear a 46-48 depending on the shirt. (18-18 1/2 neck, 37-38 sleeves)

Can you do a push up? Can you do 10 push ups?

If you want bigger minus the weights, try the push ups. Do them slowly (3 count as you're going down, 3 count as you're going up), and do them until you can't do any more. Do that 8 or 10 times a day. Do it every day.

If you're just starting out, it'll hurt a lot after 3 or 4 days. Get past it; keep doing as many as you can. Report back in 3 months.
