Is 37" the new 26" and 42" the new 37"?

My parents bought a 26" about 6 months ago. Wouldn't listen to me. Now they go, "Why are there black bars on the sides making the picture small" etc... I just set it to auto stretch and they're happy with that. I don't see why aspect ratios are so confusing for people.

Link The first commercially available OLED TV was announced today. How could they have an OLED DLP (if that even makes sense) 3 months ago?

With the switch in aspect in aspect ratios from 4:3 to 16:9, screen sizes naturally had to increase to some extent to maintain the same heigth of the screen, since they are measured diagonally.

Not that this question was posed to me, but...

I'm looking for the biggest I can get LCD for around $700.

So far it looks like the Vizio 32" at Costco is my best bet.

The problem with the sizes is the aspect ratio. When I replaced my 32" CRT with a 32" LCD, the SD picture was in the 25" range. Took it back and switched it out for a 37" and it brought the SD size back up to about 32".

The Vizio 32" is $600 and the 37" is $760 at Costco.com

What's your video source? OTA antenna or cable/satellite?

I would wait. I've seen Vizio and Olevia 37" for $599.
