hi, I have 2 of these PNY 2100 ram, oced to 217FSB dual channel ddr on an AMD setup, sucky timing though.. but it ran 37 test and all passed no errors, how many pass is normally needed for indication of good memory?

will try better timing later tonight.

I don't use MEMTEST any more, I use MS memory test program.
The MEMTEST 3 took about 2 hours to find a bad memory address while MS program took 50 min. to find the same bad memory address.
Today I went to RMA my HyperX DDR3500 RAM and hopedully i'll be able to recieve my new RAM today !

Usually 11 passes, all tests, cache always on, all memory should suffice to make sure there is no problem with the ram sticks. But then this is not for system stability testing. That's what Prime95 is for. I've had Memtest pass 30+ passes, but still fail Prime95 testing in less than a minute.

mind to tell me where u d/l this MS memory tester? Plus, are you able to use default v-dimm with KHX3500 cas timing 2-2-2-5? or what v-dimm will allow this timing? Mine default is 2.5v dimm, can allows 2-2-2-5 with 2.7v-dimm but using 5:4 ratio, which mine FSB 255:204

Never have been able to go 2-2-2-5 with any volt.
I was able to go 2-3-2-5 with 2.8v

37 passes is good... did you run all tests and extended tests and leave the cache ON for all tests?

c-1-2-2-3-0 spacebar

i think that's the sequence you're supposed to use when running memtest86

leave the cache on for all tests and run all extended tests

:) (thanks thugsrook)
