is $368,000 a good price for a condo?

it's in a gated community in alhambra, CA, 4 bedroom, 3 baths, a patio, 2 balconies, and a 2 car garage.....i don't know much about real estate prices these days so with just the info given, is this a good deal? average deal? rip?
plus the condo is brand new if that matters...

i would look in duarte or monrovia too.

as far as condos go thats sounds pretty big. but the condo fees are probably high.

Here's an idea.. compare it to other properties in the area. If it's more expensive, then it's not a good deal. Amazing! All it takes is some legwork by picking up realtor brochures and checking ads.

by San Diego standard, that's pretty damn cheap. my friend just paid $300,000+ for a starter condo with only 2 bedrooms and 2 baths (and one carport, no garage), in a not so great neighborhood.

Check out the Homeowners Association. Check into their fees and how much they've changed (raised) over time and what they spend their money on. There are little feifdoms out there that would make re-selling difficult. Some are not collecting enough and the facilities suffer , thus rendering re-sell questionable. Check the books and talk to other current owners about any Association politics. Politics suck at any level.

Wow you live in alhambra too?

Right now theres a House for sale on South Geranio Drive (near new avenue) and it has a pool and at least 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Its about $320,000 right now.

looking at all these search sites so far...the cheapest home i could find online was $390,000 for a ghetto looking house that has 3 beds and 2 bath...but then again these online prices must be blown out of proportion. i remember my teacher telling me 3 years ago that NOW is the time to buy a house because house prices are skyrocketing in my area...he was sure damn right.

update: my mom found a condo (1993) 3br/2bath in temple city (very close to El Monte, which is a bad thing, near the bowling alley on lower azusa for those who live in my area).

My mom's going to try to make an offer and lower it from $340,000 to roughly $330,000...it doesn't sound like much and she has 2 agents helping her find a home...why does she need agents (won't they charge her $?) ?

I haven't been able to help my mom out or anything because I'm away at school and I am just hoping she doesn't make a big mistake. what do you guys think (for those who are familiar with the area)?

there is place on sale two doors down from me going for about $336,000. 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, 2 car garage and some other details that i will post later.
