Is %35 off Inspiron 6000 HOT or WARM?

There's a coupon right now for %35 off $1399 or more on the new Inspiron 6000. I'm not in a hurry to get a laptop - sometime this year is OK. Should I jump on this or hold out for a better deal? Can it get any better than %35? Thanks.

i ordered mine when they had the 34% off the 6000, and it arrived today. I added stuff, so I got 1448 after the discount of some 700 bux off =)

the keyboard provides some nice feedback. I like the touchpad's texture, which will probably wear off with use. the touchpad buttons suck ass. I spent an hour uninstalling all the crap dell put in. after a few hours of it being on, light use, it's fairly warm on the bottom. its a big unit anyway, so this is no LAP top if you know what i mean.

How is the LCD? Also, is it noisy? I'm getting mine tomorrow.

doesnt seem noisy. I cant actually hear it right now, my printer is... well.. printing. and the tv is on. and putting my ear close to the back, i just make out the fan working.

the LCD looks great at 1920x1200 =D

i can get a 9300 w/ 1.6ghz/512mb/geforce6800/7200rpm drive for $1291 shipped w/ the $750 off $1999 coupon.. but 50% sounds very lucrative... lol

hrm, i just noticed that the screen is at best, 16 bit. =(

What video card?

i just updated my post. the graphics on websites look horrible. =(

radeon x300 w/ 128MB

I guess I'm not noticing it cause I don't run it at your resolution. Maybe you should use Dell's 100% satisfaction return policy and get something you'll be happy with. I keep my settings pretty simple since its just for work and school. My desktop is for the fun stuff.

okay.

I found out the problem. IE is rendering webpages MUCH LARGER THAN DEFINED by the code. confirmed by saving images onto system, and viewing with an image viewer. and confirmed by installing firefox.

the screen is beautiful. stupid IE.

Thats great to hear , but this things weighs a mofo. I'm still shopping for a bag for this puppy. Probably going to wait a awhile before I go 1GB and hoping DDR2 dims drop in price. I'll wait and see if anybody on the other forums drop DDR2 533 instead of 400mhz that came with the laptop.

Found our "problem" and solution for ATI graphics:

ATI has screen enhance on for font size.
Desktop-->Settings-->Advanced-->General.
The default windows DPI setting is 96 DPI.
To increase viewability on high res, the DPI is set to 120.

To fix, close all applications and set to 96 DPI.

Reboot.

Problem Solved!
