Is $25 a good price for Turtle Beach Montego II A3D Audio Vortex2 PCI Card

I have an asus motherboard with onboard sound...would this be a good board to add on just to take the sound load off of the motherboard? I am not much into multispeaker sound anyway? What inexpensive baord would you recommend?

Depends, if your running win 98, 95, or ME, would probably be something to think about. If your running 2000, forget it. I probablly wouldnt pay 25 for it anyway, for just a little more you could get something else(which may not be as good, the vortex2 rocks) but will have future compatibility. Aureal the company that made the vortex2 is now defunct, hence crappy (at best) win2000 drivers.

That's not a bad price at all for that card but remember A3D is dead as an API now that Creative owns Aereal.
