My dad just called me and told me that the people he is buying a house from have a Bowflex they don,t want to move. They want 200 and I don't really know anything about them but assume they are super expensive new. I would assume 200 is a great price. Are they worth owning?

At 200 bucks as long as it is operational and has all the pieces I'd be all over it.

that's a good price if you use it all the time. i got a used soloflex for the same price. had to replace the 'rubber' as they turn 'brittle' after a few years.

The bowflex 'bows' make excellent whipping canes. You can break skin with only a minimal effort. They are absolutely marvelous. Everyone knows this.

I think 300 is more appropriate

nothing beats an olympic sized power cage and free weights

Sure if you have the room. The nice thing about a Bowflex is that it can be folded up and rolled into a corner if needed.

For $200, it's a good deal if it's in good condition. The bands are guaranteed for life.

I have a membership at two different gyms, and even I'd consider buying a bowflex for $200 if it were in good shape. Aren't those things usually ~$1000+ new?

We have an imitation Bow Flex that I think is worth closer to $50 than $200. Yup, its a gen-u-wine Moe Plex.

What model is it? If it's the Ultimate or XLT then it's a good buy. If it's one of the barebones ones, then I'd pass. If it's one of the really new models then I know absolutely nothing about them.

Might want to check if it's enough resistance for you. I find machines bow, pully or otherwise lacking and I only lift when snow is on the ground plus range of motion is unnatural YMMV.

I brought a Bowflex 552 dumb bell set for $275 with the stand, normally goes for like $500. $200 for a good condition bowflex anything is a good deal.

Which bowflex? I remember reading about a recall on one of their models a while back.

A quick google search brings up their Ultimate 2 Home Gym model. link
