Is 1ghz good enough for a decent media center box?

Is 1ghz good enough for a decent media center box? Also, what tv card do you recommend?

If you want to capture Digital Video...that's on the very low-end.

What is it going to do? Also, depending on the task, you may want a fast hard drive and/or large amounts of RAM.

pushing it unless you have a great video card, some nice, fast SCSI drives and LOTS of DDR RAM.

xp media center would probably choke on that. take a look at the review of an xp media center system on the main site

Actually the NEWWER 1Ghz C3's are not that bad, ala M10000

That sucks. I was thinking I could use an old 800mhz duron to capture and play movies with. Would a 1.6Ghz Athlon XP cut it? Its time to upgrade my main box anyway 🙂.
