Is 1and1.com retarded or what?

On April 20th I signed up for a 1and1.com hosting account. Now 6 days later I've never recieved an email with an account number, and I cant log into the site in any way. Emailing 1and1.com has solved nothing. No replies, nothing.

There is a $6 pending charge on my credit card, so I'm calling USAA to dispute it before the full amount hits. I guess I'll write 1and1 to let them know that I'm cancelling my account that they never even bothered to create. How exactly does that happen? There complete lack of customer support doesn't help either.

I'm sure in like 4 months they'll come searching for money.

i canceled a hosting account with network eleven over a year ago, they keep sending me emails that my account is past due
i have emailed them 10+ times and sent 3 snail mail letters telling them i canceled and i have never gotten an acknowledgment and the automated emails keep coming

maybe it is an industry standard tactic to not let you cancel to try and get you to pay

Did you try calling them? I've never had a problem with them before. Solid to be honest.

Very strange. I signed up with 1and1.com about two months ago and didn't run into any problems. The account was active within 30 minutes. I've also contacted their tech department several times and had responses within an hour or two. /shrug

Getting on a phone is difficult, and they cut out often so dealing with tech support is pointless.

Unfortunately 5GB wont be enough bandwidth for what I need. Its going to host videos for my sister, which will tear that apart. Otherwise I definitely would have.
