Is 16x64 one-sided 128 mb PC133 SDRAM low density or high density?

Anyone know? I don't understand the 16x64 number. I need low density, but I'm not sure what this is.

BTW.. The part number for the RAM is P16M648YB7 - 75A. It has Spectek chips and is Kbyte RAM.

Thanks again.

hey sal, how ya doin?

about the ram. I was always under the assumption that single sided ram was high and double sided ram was low. but after reading a couple articles it kinda confused me.

one thing I think, is high density ram consists of 64mb chip and larger chips. (ie. you stick would have 2 chips on that one side instead of the 8 or 6 that it does)

hope someone can help you out better than I can!

That has 16 chips of 64Mb (megabit), 1 Megabyte = 8 Megabits, so 16 (# of chips) x 64Mb (chip size) / 8 is 128MBytes on the stick.
It is a double sided stick, 8 chips on each side, I believe.

I know.. I've read all the FAQ's too and I'm very confused myself. That's why I thought I would ask.

For clarification, there are 8 chips on this stick of RAM on one side.

Thanks again.

no for sure. x16 is low density, x4 is high density, x8 is low density as well.
8 chips at 128mb, that not low density per chip either

16x64 just means the module is 128MB, it doesn't tell anything the density.
In term of memory size, 8MB/chip is low density or 16MB/chip is high density, since it's single side, it must be 8 of 16MB chips.
In term of chip type, 16x8Mbit is low density, 32x4Mbit is high density.

This dimm could be either using 8 of 16x8Mbit chips or 8 of 32x4Mbit chips.
You've to see the number on the chip and search it from the ram manufacturer website.
