For that TN monitor, I would say it is overpriced. If it was a IPS or PVA/MVA then I think it would be okay.

In the DC metro area, that is about market value, not really overpriced, but if you hold out, you may find a better deal if the seller is desperate for quick cash.

However, monitors with the 1200 vertical lines are pretty rare to find. I've been hunting for used Samsung monitors to match mine for eyefinityx3 1920x1200 screens.

I bought my 1920x1200 T240 used and it works for me for gaming and desktop use, I really like it. One issue to consider is that the monitor does not have a standard 4-screw-hole VESA mount, so if you want to use a wall mount or other mount besides the included stand, you need to buy a separate bracket that Samsung sells to provide the standard VESA screw hole mounts.

Sorry I have the T240 not the T240HD. However, I believe their performance as monitors is the same, e.g., using DVI or HDMI input from a computer to show computer graphics.

I really like my T240 for gaming, I don't see it as too slow. The 60Hz looks fine to me, because it's an LCD instead of a CRT (years ago I was really picky about my CRT refresh being too flickery when set to 60 Hz so I'd raise it to 85 or so to avoid flickering, but the T240 looks good without any flickering at 60 Hz).

But I've never gamed on 120Hz so I am blissfully ignorant and happy with 60Hz at the moment, because I just don't have the cash to get three 1920x1200 displays each running 120Hz; it's hard enough just finding 1920x1200 displays.

These 120hz LEDs have 5ms to 8ms response time. If you turn on vsync thers a high chance its gonna be laggy mouse and not instal movement and Ghosting also.,,, I saw games on my cousins LG 2ms and you cant even compare,, I get FW900 style performance ,,, Also this is closest thing to CRT,,,...

That is too much money its not a real monitor its just a TV that allows you to get picture when you connect the stuff.

For 150 you can get a brand new 24 inch LCD no TV,, if you want TV with it then its not a real PC monitor.. think wisely,, thx gl

A couple days ago, a site had the refurb Dell 2408wfp for about $190 shipped. Given that, I wouldn't spend $160 on a used TN monitor. I'd look around for a used/refurb PVA/MVA panel rather than spending that much on a TN monitor.

There are a lot of things to be concerned about with an older used monitor. Some of its life is already gone. There's no warranty. etc. However, all of those can be moot if the price is right. In this case, I don't think the price is right. I'd probably pay $120 tops for that.

IMO I'd prefer picking up a brand new 23" 1080p monitor for $125 like the one posted in this thread.

got it, he budged on the price a bit. It's my second monitor, 1920x1200 is way better than 1080 imo. Hooked up as a TV, xbox, 2nd monitor, sound is ok too. Hans G 27.5 on newegg is on $240 so if I had waited one day I guess I could have gotten that. Still kinda please with 130 no tax. And the Hansg 27.5 might be too big on my desk.

Actually, it's a decent 1920x1200 24" monitor (for a TN panel) with an HD tuner inbuilt. Many 24" LCD's are only 1920x1080.

I have two, side by side, and they look great. I can also watch the football game on Saturday by switching one from the HDMI input to the tuner input. :)

My buddy wanted a monitor he could watch TV on as well in and got the T240HD too. He sold me his Gateway 24" PVA LCD and didn't notice a difference at all going to the TN panel.

BTW this is a "real" PC monitor, it just has a tuner built into it. For watching TV on, I'd take a built in tuner LCD monitor like this over a USB tuner any day. It works just like any other TV and you don't need to worry about Windows support, stuttering video, etc.

real happy with it. Love the option of clicking source, doing my work on one monitor and watching tv on another, then reverting back at will
