    I'm downloading and getting 155 KB/sec is that like 1.5 MB/sec? You'd think I would know that stuff, but I don't.

    ummm no

    1024kb = 1mb

    unless you are talking about kilobytes and megabits. in that case 155kilobytes is approximately 1.2megabits

    1.5 Megabytes/sec. would be about 1500 KiloBytes/sec.

    That's what I first thought when I experienced broadband. When I experienced the 3meagbit barrier I almost crapped my pants.

    Wait'll you experience the 3 megaBYTE barrier. /splooge. I love this school connection, but its hard to find servers that can sustain 3MB/s down.

    192Bits + 1 Control bit * 8 = 1.544MB

    kilo BYTE (KB) = kilobit / 8
    kilo bit (kb) = kilobyte * 8

    1024 kilobits = 1 megabit

    155 x 8 = 1240 kilobits / s = 1.21 megabits /s

    but usually factors of 10 is easier and that's what companies use prolly.

    Megabytes = MB
    Megabits = Mb or mb

    If I'm wrong about those abbreviations, feel free to correct them. :D
