Yes. Getting your bb pierced is a bit more sexual in nature than ears. 15 would be an acceptable age to get it pierced, IMO.

I'd let her do it. Telling her she can't have it will only make her want it more. Just don't let her dress like a skank ho.

yes, it is too young. if you let her have a belly ring at 13 she will be asking for nipple rings at 14.

Hell yeah it's way too young. I would stick with the once you're 18 you can do what you want.

What's next? tongue ring?

I admit it's more socially acceptable now then it was 10 years ago, but I still find it repulsive.

But hey, it's her body, but she lives under your roof. Your call.

No, don't pay attention to the uber conservatives of ATOT. You'll go a lot further being the "cool" dad than the mean dad.

More important than a belly button ring is BIRTH CONTROL. In a year or two, you and your wife should start asking her every month if she wants to start on the pill. That's responsible parenting.

Hmm, my first thought was that it didn't matter...but then I remembered the conversation with one of my female friends freshman year of college about why she wanted to get a belly ring...and my answer for Citrix is now, "no way in hell should you let her get that". Assuming she's having the same thought process as my friend did, 13 is certainly way too young.

For those who are curious, here was the thought process my friend went through. She wanted a belly ring because she liked the idea of laying there naked with a guy she just slept with while he sort of played with the ring. Now maybe Citrix's daughter has a lot more innocent thoughts running through her mind, but that just gave me the willies.

As sick as your posts makes me, your words ring true.

Kids are having sex waaay too damn early.

I am no doctor, but I think it miight be healthier for her to finish growing before adding a ring... Beside for that, make her well aware of the possible repurcussions- scarring if removed/infections etc. My now wife had one earlier in my relationship(I do not like belly button rings, but that is neither here nor there). Despite the recommendations of cleaning, etc, it got infected, quite messy and painful, and then she had to take it out. She now has a scar, which while not the end of the world, is still something that should be noted.

As long as you are OK with guys wanting to have sex with her then. Kind of hard to let kids dress/accessorize in a sexy manner (to some) and then complain when people notice. Don't complain when some guy is tarnishing her virtue

I saw no. The only reason she would want one is if she is planning on showing it off, by wearing clothes that show it off....at that age that is not needed.

Belly Buttons are sexy...a 13 year old does not need to be sexy.

OMG! At 13, she should still be playing with Barbies, Alabama man, and Wild Wacky Action Bikes, not trying to decide whether she wants a belly ring or not! :Q

the bolded part is completely argueable. It all comes down to personal tastes.

Umm, that's the biggest load of nonsense I have ever heard. Guys will ALWAYS want to have sex with girls.. it has nothing to do with their dressings/rings. If the girl is educated properly, there won't be a problem... since when is dressing/decorating relevant to having sex? Are you one of those people who declare that women who dress sexy "deserve" to get raped because they were "asking for it"?
