okay, i guess it's a dumb question, since i probably know the answer already, but i just can't figure out what's up with this temperature thing. i've been trying to figure out why it's getting so hot. i'm running a athlon 650 (not oc'ed) on an asus k7m with an enermax 450w power supply...help!

There is no way to get temps from "software". All temps read from the mb come from hardware, not software. Software merely reads these measurements from the corresponding mb chip.

This isn't to say that some hardware programs aren't wrong(albeit these errors are almost always caused my hardware problems).

Back to the temp, 107F is a bit warm. How is your case ventilation?

well, i think it's an overheating problem because my computer likes to shut itself off after a while... i have a 120mm fan blowing straight at the processor right now with the side of the case open, and so far, no shutoffs. but if i take the fan off and put the side of the case back on, i can barely get into windows without it turning off... :| *sigh*
